Shorebirds Time!

5 of 9 days in Yogyakarta, we spent time at Progo River Delta and Trisik Beach to get a photo of shorebirds.  Progo River Delta and Trisik Beach is a good spot for shorebirds, more than 20 species of shorebird was recorded there. The first record of Red Phalarope (Phalaropus fulicaria) in Indonesia was recorded from there too.
Around one and half hour from BBC (BIONIC Base Camp), we go there by motorcycle.

13 November 2012
We start our observation from 10.47AM until 5.28PM. We got more than 10 species of shorebirds (5 lifers for me) in one day.

- Oriental Plover (Charadrius veredus) only got some record shots. This bird is very shy, unlike the other shorebirds. I took this picture from a distance (around 55 meters).

- two Oriental Pratincoles (Glareola maldivarum).

- Great Knot (Calidris tenuirostris) foraging with Red Knot (Calidris canutus). They allowed me to get closer to them.

- Suddenly two Sanderlings (Calidris alba) landed among the flock, just for a second and then flew away again.
